A
BRIEF HISTORY |
| Being
the oldest and the most authentic language school
in Nairobi, Kenya; the school was established in
1965 by the Church Missionary Society [C.M.S] of
England. It was mainly for the benefit of
missionaries coming to Africa with a need to learn
the local languages. It was rapidly expanded to
meet the needs of Voluntary agencies [NGOS],
church workers of various denomination and
individual persons wishing to exploit its
facilities for language study. |

| OUR
OBJECTIVES |
We seek to
serve A.C.K by preparation of her expatriate and
local staff for ministry through language study
and orientation.
To serve Missionary
Societies, and other voluntary agencies through
Language study and orientation.
To prepare students for
admission into English speaking schools,
colleges
and universities.
To provide teaching
facilities for other persons not falling in the
above categories.
To prepare students for the
IELTS for study in the UK, Australia
and New Zealand.

TERM SESSIONS
|
|
Learning runs
through the year, with 3 main sessions( terms) for
full-time classes. A full time class is a 14-week
session consisting of 10-15 students in a class.
These classes are in different levels i.e.
Beginners, Elementary, Intermediate, Advanced and
Diploma levels.
The term sessions are as
follows:
. January-April (14 weeks)
. May –July (14 weeks)
. September-December (14
weeks)

Classes are held for:
Full-time course - Five hours in class, 9.00 am -
4.00 p.m
Part-time course - At your own convenience.
(Before,
during and after office hours)

STUDENTS
|
|
We have an average
of 80 students in a term on a full time basis and about
40 students on private and part time basis with the
number rising rapidly. Part time and private
sessions are arranged according to the needs of the
learner.

The school has seen through
its doors a great number of beneficiaries over the
years. Having a multi-cultural set up of the student
body ranging from Kenyans, different African
nationalities, Asians, Europeans and American
students; it has had about 370 students every year.

STAFF
|
|
The school boasts
of a qualified self-motivated and experienced
staff.Some of our members having more than twenty
years of the experience in their lines of duty.
It consists of tutors on full
time basis and additional consulting members
assisting in various
areas.
