The
ACK Diocese of Machakos was
created in 1985 on the sub-division of the Diocese of Nairobi. 1st
April, 1995 the Diocese of Kitui was carved off leaving the
present Diocese of Machakos.
It comprises
of Machakos, Makueni & Garissa Districts.
The diocese has 42 parishes, reaching
many people within Machakos which hosts a population of 571,
600. (1999 Census, Central Bureau of Statistics) |
