ACTIVITIES AND PROJECTS

PUR has set up consultancy services in a number of dioceses and endeavours to continue doing so. Among those set up are Mumias, Katakwa, Mt. Kenya West, South Nyanza, Mombasa, Kitui and Machakos Dioceses.

-       In the area of documentation and information dissemination PUR has published two books so far, 'RABAI TO MUMIAS' and 'PROBLEM SOLVING'.

-       The department also carries out statistics within the Church. It has in the past published the ACK directories as a result.

-       To fasten the research process, the PUR Computer School was established, now housed at the Language School building. With the establishment of this computer school, the department has trained the Province Personnel from the Provincial Office to some specific dioceses. It continues to train more and more of the personnel to ensure IT competent staff, who will in turn make it easier in the networking of the research process.

The PUR in conjunction with the Communications Department have overseen the electronic networking of the Province. With this new development, the research activities in the department will take a faster and be more effective.
